How to Make Victorian Christmas Treat Cones

Updated: Dec 20, 2020

In this post I will show you how to create Victorian Christmas treat cones! In the Victorian period, these were popular tree decorations made of decorated paper. Usually, they were stuffed with nuts or small candies and hung on the tree for the children to enjoy! I've made a free printable template with a few Victorian theme designs, as well as a blank template for you to create your own design! These are very simple to make, and only require a few materials:

Paper

Printer

Clear tape

Ribbon

Nuts or candies to fill!

Optional:

Tinsel, glitter, additional cutouts, etc for decoration.

Hole punch

Step 1:

Print and cut out the provided template. If you intend to glue or glitter anything on your cone, this will be easiest done while it is still flat.

Step 2:

Make into cone by rolling from one corner to the other, and tape along the seam to keep it closed. Depending on the size of the treats you plan to fill it with, be sure there are no gaps at the tip of the cone they could fall out of!

Step 3:

Cut a piece of ribbon to 9" and attach to cone by taping each end to opposite sides. Alternately, you can punch holes in opposite sides with a hole punch and tie the ribbon through the holes.

Step 4:

Fill with nuts, candies, or other snacks and hang on your tree to enjoy!
