This recipe for hot chocolate is from the 1879 edition of 'Housekeeping in Old Virginia' (pg 65) and is super simple and delicious to make!
I used a bar of Hershey milk chocolate and 2% milk, which worked very well! You could easily adapt this recipe by using different types of chocolate, or richer milk. I found whisking by hand worked fairly well for frothing the cocoa as well if you do not have a mixer.
